Fresh Eggs, Coming to a Backyard Near You!

COOP is an Austin based start-up dedicated to bringing chicken coops to backyards everywhere. Working closely with COOP founders AJ Forsythe and Jordan Barnes, Bould Design applied their design magic to develop a coop that will satisfy the aesthetic and functional requirements of even the most discerning hens.

The COOP coop brings comfort and convenience to both owner and chickens alike. With the IoT camera, chickens can be checked on from the living room or from across the continent. The remote control front door can be set for scheduled operation. Fresh eggs are easily collected via the hatch with minimal disruption to the occupants. Cleaning is easy, simply swap in a new compostable litter tray and add more litter. Using only a screwdriver, the COOP coop assembles in thirty minutes or less. The COOP team thought through everything to make raising chickens easy and engaging.

Leveraging a familiar modern house archetype, the design offers a fresh, functional simplicity that blurs the line between architecture and product. The gray scalloped roof and sidewalls bring a subtle reference to the ubiquitous corrugated steel shed as well as structure to the rotationally molded components. The front door, eggbox and feeders are rendered in a lively coral color delivering a vivid contrast against the charcoal front and back facades. The coop design is fun and sophisticated at the same time.
