R-Zero Launches Two New Products for Continuous, Autonomous Disinfection

 

R-Zero has recently launched two innovative new products that add to their continuous, autonomous disinfection ecosystem: Beam and Vive. The company’s revolutionary system of IoT-connected biosafety technologies marks the first to provide real-time air and surface disinfection in occupied spaces, addressing critical human health and safety challenges within the built environment. Bould Design has been R-Zero’s design partner since their first groundbreaking UV-C disinfection product, Arc, which launched during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Beam is the world’s first LED-powered upper room UVGI (ultraviolet germicidal irradiation) system. Leveraging 265nm UV-C, Beam successfully disinfects 99% of airborne pathogens every five minutes (12+ equivalent ACH) — delivering powerful, continuous air disinfection for occupied spaces. 

The sleek, IoT-enabled unit uses lensed LEDs (four light bars, housing twelve LEDs each) to create a targeted disinfection zone across the top of a room. Leveraging natural convective currents, Beam quickly and effectively disinfects large volumes of air as it rises and passes through the irradiance zone. The elegant form complements existing architecture while safely projecting pathogen-eliminating UV-C light. During operation, the deflector shields UV-C light from occupants while sensors trigger a pause in disinfection if people or animals are detected in the disinfection zone. Lightweight and sturdy, the aluminum construction allows for ease of handling and installation. Components are powder coated for durability and cleanability.

Vive is the first continuous, autonomous air and surface disinfection device designed for occupied spaces. Leveraging novel far-UV technology — the first UV technology safe for human exposure — Vive disinfects air and surfaces in real-time, actively eliminating pathogens in seconds where people are present. 

With a patented three-bulb design coupled with patented nano filter technology, the unit delivers powerful yet human-safe 222nm far-UV that inactivates 99% of pathogens in its’ field of transmission. The innovative triangular configuration evenly distributes pathogen neutralizing light all around the device while the soft, understated form puts occupants at ease as their environment is kept safe.
